The authors of the article made an attempt to assess the effects of business entities that provide faster growth of business capitalization in the socio-economic development of the region. To achieve the goal of the study, the scientific substantiation of approaches to solving the problem of identifying business entities – growth accelerators, assessing their contribution to the formation of key socio-economic indicators of the region is presented. Based on the materials of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the quantitative parameters of 4 types of business entities that meet the characteristics of extensive, intensive, tactical and strategic development are established.
